Blackstone Selectmen blueprint July semiquincentennial celebration with seven dedicated subcommittees. The festival, running July 24-26 at Blackstone Millville Regional High School, will feature carnival rides, food trucks, live music, and fireworks tentatively set for Saturday, July 25 at 9:30 PM. Parks and Recreation Chairwoman Celeste Langlois reported that eight bands, nine food trucks, and seven vendors have already registered, though some bands requested fees as high as $1,600.
Vice Chairman Michael Sweeney emphasized the need for an Emergency Action Plan and Incident Action Plan developed with the town's Emergency Management Director before finalizing event layout. The Board noted that funding may require a warrant article for approval at May Town Meeting.
