BLACKSTONE — Board of Health fines D&H Variety for third violation in three years. The board, chaired by Joshua J. Ryan, voted unanimously to impose a $5,000 fine and 21-day suspension on the business owner and reported that tobacco products have been removed from sale.
In a separate 2-1 vote, Vice Chairman Kevin J. Ryan and member Peter C. Ryan, Sr., opposed entry into a proposed regional animal inspector agreement costing $3,000 to $8,000 annually; Chairman Joshua J.
Ryan voted yes. The board unanimously granted a hardship waiver to the property owner at 492 Elm Street, exempting him from the mandatory sewer tie-in requirement, and unanimously approved payroll and invoices totaling $110,876.87.
