BLACKSTONE — Capital Outlay Committee votes to recommend parks warrant article. The Committee voted 5-1 to support Warrant Article 31, which would redirect $53,927 in unexpended appropriations toward basketball court renovation at Turbesi Park and ADA-related repairs town-wide. Finance Committee representative Jeff Silverstein cast the sole opposition vote, arguing the Turbesi Park court was structurally sound and required only repainting and relining, and that the proposed work would not achieve full ADA compliance.
Chairman Gino Olaes said the Committee would reorganize and reconvene within one month after Town Meeting to discuss future capital planning with Interim Town Administrator Lauren Taylor.
