BLACKSTONE — Capital Outlay Committee recommends nine warrant articles totaling over $5 million for the 2026 Town Meeting, including a $1.8 million public safety radio system upgrade and $1.5 million Maloney School conversion. Fire Chief Kevin Roy and Police Chief Gregory Gilmore described the radio system as a three-site simulcast infrastructure replacement addressing communication dead zones and reliability issues across town. Finance Committee representative Jeff Silverstein objected to the Maloney School article, citing insufficient financial documentation; the Committee voted 6-1 to recommend it after Board of Selectmen Chairman Daniel Keefe assured further scrutiny.
Additional approvals included a $66,000 cardiac monitor, $45,500 air compressor, and $700,000 for Bellingham Road drainage improvements.
