Economic Development Committee designates Main Street as top priority
All Other Groups, Boards, and Committees · Meeting of March 23, 2026
Blackstone Economic Development Committee unanimously designates Main Street Corridor as priority. Chairwoman Elyse Gesmondi's committee voted to present the Main Street prioritization to the Board of Selectmen and request authorization for direct business engagement in that district, identified as the town's most visible commercial area. Ex-Officio member Edward Castonguay reported contact with the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jeanie Hebert regarding collaboration, and Vice Chairman John Partlow was tasked with coordinating outreach to town departments to document business requirements.
The Committee is awaiting a properly formatted digital business list from the Town Clerk before proceeding with outreach strategy development.
