Blackstone Parks and Recreation Commission approves craft night program and ADA strategy. The five-member commission voted unanimously to allocate $200 for a game and craft night February 18 at the Senior Center and accepted a plan by Sara Peters, chairperson of the town ADA committee, to pursue a $250,000 annual Americans with Disabilities Act grant covering park modifications. Celeste Langlois advanced a warrant article consolidating funds for a basketball court and ADA-compliant pathways at Turbesi.
The commission agreed to add monthly ADA transition-plan discussion to its first meeting each month. Laurie Raymond and Adrienne Myerson-Raymond of 145 Mendon Street were named first-place and People's Choice winners of the Bling Up Blackstone awards, sponsored by local businesses.
