Blackstone Parks and Recreation Commission approves $1,475 in spending and grants field access to BMR. The commission unanimously approved up to $1,100 for fibar and crushed-stone repairs at Turbesi Park and $375 to update the Turbesi sign with new decals. Chair Bob Gilbert and members also granted BMR's request to use Roosevelt Babe Ruth field, Goulet softball field, and Goulet soccer field for a summer sports camp August 3-6, 8 a.m. to noon.
The body tabled the Ice Cream Social rescheduling and flagged compliance issues with Men's Softball and Swishville Hoops leagues, warning that field access would be revoked if permits remained outstanding by Friday morning.
