BLACKSTONE — Parks and Recreation Commission approves $1,614.27 in vendor bills and confronts a compliance standoff with two adult leagues. The men's softball league, already in play since April 19, and Swishville Hoops both lack required liability insurance despite receiving field-use approval March 26, and the town administrator has made clear that permits will not be issued without proof of coverage and payment. Chair Bob Gilbert was directed to require both leagues to attend the May 18 meeting with completed online applications, liability documentation, and field-use fees ($260 for men's softball, $110 for Swishville); the men's softball league must also impose a $9-per-player insurance surcharge retroactively.
