Blackstone Parks and Recreation Commission approved softball field request and portapotty increase. The Men's Evangelical Softball League will use Goulet Park Mondays 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. from May 4 to August 3 for $140.00. The commission voted unanimously to increase Roosevelt Park portapotty cleaning to twice weekly following a complaint and to contribute $600 toward a portable sink for the Roosevelt snack bar, a project that was holding up a Board of Health permit.
The commission also voted to pay PACC $1,577.00 for bicycles purchased for the Tags and Trout event and to cancel Derby Days due to low registration and poor promotion, directing Chair Celeste Langlois to determine whether a $450 donation from Paula Sullivan should be returned or redirected.
