Selectmen approve road contracts, authorize legal service acceptance

Blackstone selectmen unanimously awarded five road construction contracts and cleared legal service authorization. Chairman Daniel Keefe, Vice Chairman Michael Sweeney, Selectwoman Mary Bulso, Selectman Edward Castonguay, and Selectman Gino Olaes approved vendor selections including LAL Construction, Tasco Construction, Harsha, All States Construction, and Seal Coating, Inc., structured on unit pricing to allow flexibility as work conditions change. Town Administrator Chad Lovett also secured Board authorization for Town Counsel to accept service of a property complaint regarding 0-3 Rocco Drive.
Ms. Lovett presented FY27 budget revisions showing a net decrease of approximately $426,863, including new contingency funding to stabilize water rates and a consolidated roadway appropriation allowing the DPW Superintendent to reallocate funds without Town Meeting approval for each project shift.
