Board of Selectmen approves school building project review and drainage easement.

Blackstone Selectmen unanimously authorize $117,270 water meter project contract and approve $107,500 easement purchase to resolve seven-year drainage issue. Interim Town Administrator Lauren Taylor presented the debt overview showing total outstanding debt of $6.5 million and statutory debt capacity of approximately $71 million, with the town planning to issue $5 million in short-term notes in July. The Board appointed Kelsey Chelo, Assistant Town Accountant since 2021, as Acting Town Accountant on a 5-0 vote with amended contract approved unanimously.
The School Building Committee presented a $190 million to $200 million new school construction proposal with MSBA reimbursement expected at approximately 58 percent of eligible costs and anticipated opening in Fall 2029.
